Purpose of the Role

• This role has the opportunity for a significant teaching capacity on Sunday mornings and other teaching opportunities at College Ave.

• The Senior Director of High School Ministry will provide vision, leadership, pastoral care, and oversight for College Ave's High School Ministry, serving students in grades 9–12.

• This is a leadership role for someone who can think beyond weekly programming. We're looking for a ministry leader who can build a healthy and effective high school ministry, develop staff and volunteers, disciple students and families, and lead the ministry with excellence within a large and growing church.

• The Senior Director will directly oversee the Director of High School, who will carry out much of the ministry's day-to-day programming and execution.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who is an experienced church leader and teaching pastor who can lead a significant high school ministry within a growing church. You should have:

• Significant experience leading a high school or student ministry in a growing or large local church.

• Experience supervising, developing, and coaching ministry staff.

• A demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and lead adult volunteers.

• Experience building ministry systems and structures that can support growth.

• Strong pastoral instincts and the ability to disciple students, families, volunteers, and staff.

• Demonstrated preaching and teaching experience in a local church setting.

• The ability to communicate God's Word with clarity, conviction, warmth, and relevance.

• Experience preaching to a broader Sunday congregation is strongly preferred.

• Strong organizational, relational, leadership, and communication skills.

• The ability to work collaboratively with pastors, ministry directors, and church leadership.

• A heart for reaching teenagers and helping them become lifelong followers of Jesus.

Purpose of the Role

• This role has the opportunity for a significant teaching capacity on Sunday mornings and other teaching opportunities at College Ave. 

• The Spiritual Formation Pastor will provide pastoral leadership for the discipleship ministry of College Ave, helping people take meaningful steps toward spiritual maturity and helping the church develop environments where discipleship can happen naturally and intentionally.

• A significant part of this role will be working alongside our Life Group Ministry to strengthen, develop, train, and disciple the leaders and people involved in Life Groups.

• This position will also provide pastoral care and biblical counsel to members of the church, helping people navigate seasons of life, spiritual growth, relationships, and difficult circumstances while appropriately connecting them with additional pastoral or professional care when needed.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a teaching pastor, disciple-maker, and people developer who can move comfortably between one-on-one pastoral care, leadership development, ministry strategy, and teaching. You should have:

• Significant experience in pastoral ministry, discipleship, adult ministry, Life Groups, small groups, or a related church ministry.

• Demonstrated experience discipling and developing leaders.

• Experience training and coaching small-group or Life Group leaders.

• Strong pastoral care and relational skills.

• The ability to provide wise, biblically grounded counsel while recognizing when situations require additional professional or specialized care.

• Strong biblical knowledge and the ability to communicate Scripture clearly.

• Experience teaching adults in a church setting.

• Strong organizational and leadership skills.

• The ability to develop systems and structures without losing the relational nature of ministry.

• A collaborative, team-first approach to ministry.

• A genuine love for the local church and a desire to help people become mature followers of Jesus.
