COLLEGE AVE RESIDENCY

HOW LONG IS THE RESIDENCY?

This residency is a year-long program from June 2026 – May 2027. Starting in the summer allows you to establish a foundation with your ministry and team before launching into the busiest church season in the fall. The typical weekly model includes classes, Sunday morning services, Sunday night young adults, midweek youth (if applicable), and staff meetings (sermon prep, all staff, and ministry-specific). Time off includes most Fridays and Saturdays, and select holidays.

WHAT IS THE HOUSING LIKE?

Housing is provided in a recently renovated building. The first-level is furnished with a dining, living room, kitchen, and classroom space. The second level is furnished with dorm-style rooms, each with a bathroom. The rooms can house up to two people, with a separate wing/entrance for men and women respectively. This space is designed for community, fellowship, and intentional learning with one another.

WHAT MAKES THIS RESIDENCY UNIQUE?

It starts with our classes taught by Senior Pastor, Chris Hilken and key staff. We focus on orthodoxy and orthopraxy – knowledge and real world application. These classes are hosted in our resident housing in the heart of San Diego with a rich community of fellow believers. Residency means integration with the College Ave Staff and deep involvement in ministries. A pursuit in vocational ministry is not required, but is recommended.
